Need to repair rotted transom 1980 204c. Wanted info on pourable vs wood replacement. I do my own work so wood and light Glass work don't scare me if I work from inside hull. I guess my biggest ? Is about pour in repairs anyone use them and if so with what results? I also so web site for Rot Doctor, anybody have any input on their products? Any links or info/suggestions would be awsome. Thanks

Pics always help us to help you. Seacast, Nidabond, an Arjay are the top 3 pourable transom products. If you search this forum you'll find Lots of examples. Rot Doctor is a "Band Aid" fix and usually NOT recommended here on the forum. Depending on the Style of your boat, you might want to consider replacing it with wood. If done properly it will save you several hundred dollars and will last for decades if maintained properly.

There's stuff on the market called CPES (clear penetrating epoxy sealer) that when applied with a brush will soak deep into the wood and stop rot. You will have to scrap out and remove the rotted wood first. Not sure if this will work in your situation.

I'd go with a quality wood product like:

Kiln dried CCA pressure treated plywood, it will never rot and is manufactured for the marine industry.

Or:

HDO or MDO plywood used in exterior sign making and concrete construction, both are waterproof.
