I have a 1998 four winn sundowner 245 with a 5.7 GSI (TB injected). Near the end of last season the boat would bog if i throttled it to WOT to fast, if i rolled onto the throttle it was fine, but this got progressively worse, but i lived with it because it was end of the season. Now come this season and I am trying to figure it out. The boat beginning of this season was running super rich. Here is what I have done so far. IAC valve, MAPsensor, TPS sensor, new distributor assembly, plugs, wires were done near end of last season. Manifolds and risers are also new. I have also pulled the injectors and redid the orings and the gasket for the part of the body that holds them in. The boat does not seem to be running as rich as it was (there would be fuel in the water behind the boat when i stopped). I also found that one injector was spraying differently then the other, but this cleared up after I pulled them out.

If i disocnnect the TPS sensor, but boat runs alot better under load which made me really think it was the TPS, but that changing it didnt help at all. In the manual it says they are adjustable, but I couldnt really get the numbers to change (.5 at idle and 4.4v with throttle WOT) which is in spec for the chevy system , but seems a little low for the volvo, but I still think it would be enough.

My next day off I am going to try to check the fuel pressure, but I really dont think it is the pumps because i would think it would give an issue with the TPS disconnected. Part of me is getting to the point where i am just getting ready to slap a carb on the damn thing and call it a day.

Parts cannon

Maybe the issue is with the 5 volt circuit

Diacom data items would be appropo in this situation

TBI volvo ought to be mefi controlled

Pretty straightforward connection most often located near the fwd end of the wiring harness. Otherwise look near the ecm for said connection. Should have a weather cap in place

Not gonna be at boat until Friday so I'll look again then, but I've tried to find it before and no luck. Also is there any non Volvo scanners that'll work with it?

I found the port, reset the timing, but the boat is still boggin heavy. Its weird sometimes the boat seems to run pretty good, then other times it bogs trying to get on plane. I am noticing that a little bit to much throttle makes it bog horribly. Still hvaent checked my fuel pressure yet
