Grounding fuel sensor?

I'm putting a capative type fuel sender on a plastic fuel tank. The sender uses a positive and negative leads, plus the signal lead. Should I put a jumper from the negative lead to one of the screws holding the sender to the tank?

Not needed because one of the mounting screws does that for you.

always ensur that any metal on the plastic fuel tank is grounded because of the possibility of static build up
