Re: gotta be kidding!

it seems once activists get together, they are like lemmings, going hither and yon, wherever they are led. maybe they just crave attn, i dunno. or maybe they wanted a good excuse to meet at a mall... the 2nd home for many weemen ;)

Don't know if they were there to make a point or what and it don't matter.
If they or anyone is asked to leave and they don't then they can be arrested like they were.
Just like if someone is at your house and you ask them to leave and they don't, you can have them arrested.

Re: gotta be kidding!

I'm with you mellow, even though the perps in this case make me want to barf. The answer is not to censor these kinds of people, but to point out what simplistic, self righteous, cowardly misguided idiots they really are. A mall is a modern extension of the common market, and as such, I question their authority to censor in that way.

I am surprised that he was arrested. I am not
surprised that he would be asked to leave,
especially if he was causing a disturbance on
private property.

Re: gotta be kidding!

how is walkin the mall wearing a tee-shirt causing
a disturbance? if they told me 2 remove my flag
T 4 the same reason, I would also not comply.

Re: gotta be kidding!

If he was in the mall soliciting support for
his views . That would be causing a disturbance.
A disturbance can mean different things than
fighting or yelling, it also means an assembly.

Re: gotta be kidding!

So what is it about the concept of "peace" that makes you want to barf? I am curious.

It seems we are moving a bomber group within striking distance of North Korea in case "diplomacy" does not work. That would be the diplomatic effort we refuse to enter into, I guess.

And I hear that Afghanistan has now resumed its position as the world's largest source of opium and related illegal drugs, now that the country is out of the hands of the taliban, and into the hands of a bunch of power-hungry warlords.

Nothing like a few bombs to make the world a safer place, I suppose.

But if peace makes you barf, you definitely have the proper administration in place.

Re: gotta be kidding!

i have mixed feelings on this. i think they're idiots and should be sent to iraq just before the bombing starts. but i also feel they have a right to wear the t-shirt. the last part of the article is a strong point- if the mall had signs posted like they said, i guess they do have a right to ask people to leave. it's not even newsworthy if you ask me...

Re: gotta be kidding!

ok MY, i get your drift now. but i had seen the report on the 2 guys earlier today, so i thought you were talking about the new protesting by the women's group.

it seems these guys weren't picked out as this one instance. the same t-shirt was worn awhile back by a bigger group that caused problems for mall security.

i hate it for the guys, but i understand the mall having problems with people causing discomfort for shoppers, if that is the reason for the 2 guys issue.

and i understand that people might gather to protest the malls actions. i feel they should basically just get a life though... lol

Re: gotta be kidding!

that note about afghanistan, jeez ....

i was thinkin there was supposed to be a peacekeeping force there...hmmm, i guess its our responsibility that the peace is not being kept. i didn't realize we were in charge of the peacekeeping forces either. who are those great peacekeepers anyway? .... nevermind, i think i know.

maybe we should just send all tyrants a box of roses and beg for their friendship....

Re: gotta be kidding!

I wasn't present at the mall so "if" refers to
what has been said or written. True or fabricated
you don't always get the full story until later.
It is usually someones opinion of events.

no..."if" refers to whether he was just walkin
around or "if" he was forming an "assembly"
I am assuming the prior.

Re: gotta be kidding!

I'll have to go along with matttt, if the mall has it's rules posted and these guys broke the rules, then the mall has every right to ask them to rectify the problem or leave, period. No "if" and or buts about it.
That's their choice just as i-boats has rules that we live by. We break them,
JB gets us. :D
But we are only getting one side of the story, so who's to say what really went on.
This type of situation will go on till the end of time.
There will always be cry-babies, so we just have to get used to them, but if they want to break the rules, then they should be ready to pay the price.

Re: gotta be kidding!

Things have crossed a line somewhere and some people need to get a life and a clue...

Let us speculate for a moment and say these guys were wearing a turbin and whatever those Arab dudes call there clothing (please pardon my ignorance) which they choose to wear while there minding there own buisness shopping at this Mall, and someone found their particular form of dress "offensive"... Are they going to be asked to leave the mall because of there particular way of dresing according to there lifestyle or beliefs?.. Obviously so... Why not ask the ones who ARE offended to leave if their so offended...

If you don't like it, don't look at it!!!!! IDIOTS!!!!!.....

I can't believe that a public place like a mall would or even could by law have such a policy... "Signs posted at entrances to the mall say that "wearing of apparel... likely to provoke disturbances... is prohibited" at the mall." Would'nt that be like forbiding a person of certain foreign decent or color to enter a public place simply because of there differences????... Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought it was against the law to discriminate, reguardless...

Soon this country is going to be at a point where it's going to be, "OK, FINE, No person may say or print anything ever again, no matter what it may say, and no offensive colors either... PERIOD... All you can wear is your little brown uniform and salute your political leaders..."...

Welcome to Communism 101, Boys...
