Got a deal on a extremely well taken car of 2008 Smokercraft Phantom 16 (seen here). I took it out for the first time this weekend for a couple hours just to see how she did. I have a couple questions. I wasn't able to get the livewell to fill there is a row of toggle switches and one says livewell and Rec. it's a 3 position switch off is in the middle up is livewell and down is Rec. I assumed if I toggle it to livewell the well would fill and toggle to Rec. and it would recirculate but nothing happens when toggled to livewell and when toggled to Rec. I here a noise where the pump is trying to recirculate water (that's not there ) 9EEF287E-AF0B-4D74-8C02-9D1411A7CA31.JPG8D0D6CAE-AE6A-427C-8ADD-CC8C2172DDB5.JPGE6BE124F-6954-4813-8224-87D92A646632.JPG23D05B95-AB8F-4910-A29D-312988B01B21.JPG

Sweet boat! How familiar are you with troubleshooting 12v systems? A little 12v test light and a multimeter will go a long way. Sounds to me like maybe the switch is dead on one leg, maybe just corroded contacts inside of it. Flip it on and off a bunch and it could come back to life.

Is there one pump for both fill and recirc, or are there two pumps? Pics of the system would help. I'm not incredibly familiar with live well systems, but I think some are set up with a solenoid type valve that should switch the input, and some have a manual valve.

I don't know anything about the boat you have but I suspect there's a thru hull fitting and it should have a manual valve that might be closed.
