Re: Got a wall hanger? show us.

Click on the link below. We caught all these this past spring, all standing in the same spot on the bank. And for those of you giving the guy a bad time about keeping the fish. I have a biologist friend that saw these pics and the first thing he said was "geeze I hope you kept some of those, that pond needs to have some of those removed"<br /> ;) <br /> web page

I have a crappie that I am going to mount. I caught it at Truman Lake in Mo. It was only 14in I have caught some 15 inchers but none this big. It weight about 2 1/8lbs. It was 2in across the back. Its mouth was 2 1/4in across And 6in from top dorsal fin to bottom fin.

Pond fish don't count. Just look at the "planters" Bill Dance catches in those small lakes and large ponds. Not realistic.

My wife's Uncle (84) fishes the Little Peedee river at night in a pirout with a cane pole and a red/white jig and 80# test. He has over ten fish on his wall and the smallest is 12# and the largest is 19#.<br />He just paddles up to a half sunken log, drops in the lure and taps the water with the pole tip "whoosh!!" there it is!<br />Kinda makes the 50K I have spent on bass fishing seem kinda stupid.

Why wouldn't pond fish count? And what is your definition of a pond? The ones we caught in the "pond" certainly were not "planters".

She's a beaut, skeeterboy, but I really like the way you photographed her, holding your rod alongside for perspective.<br /><br />You could have claimed a 13 lber if you'd held her in both hands, arms outstretched, with one end a little closer to the camera.

Here's my best: a 51 incher musky (but it's not that uncommon up here, some guys caught a few over 50 inches each year)<br /><br />

Yes, good but short. We use 50-100 pounds test lines (personnaly i use 80# spiderwire stealth) to minimize fighting time and, thus, stresses to the fishes to improve their chances of survival after we release them.
