Nice Fish. I have caught a lot of fish in my years but never anything of any size. Caught over 100 crappie one day. Put most of them back. Seen some big fish caught though. The story of my life, always a bridesmaid and never the bride. So sad.

I do agree with skeeterboy. I trully beleive in the Catch/release program. I beleive taxidermist
can replicate it by using a good photo and taking the dimensions of the fish. Then he can live another day to help re-produce more big bass. Nice catch anyway you look at it....

Hey come on guys, lets not dash a guys pride with our purity.

Gonefishie, thats a nice fish, what did she wieght.

Nothing wrong taking a fish of a lifetime and having it mounted if it came from a large impoundment. Now if its one of the only fish in a pond, well, thats another matter.

I wouldn't mind having a replica of a big toad I caught, but man, if I even have the extra money... I know it would be going towards new tackle or something on my boat. :)

Gonefishie, that's a heckuva fish, especially for a northern bass!... we want details, length, weight, how'd you catch it??? I love a good story. :)

I'm a catch n' release only guy too fella and have never keep any fish since I don't like eating fish and have vowed to not directly or indirectly kill any bass intentionally. There are lots of peoples fish their whole life and never get to join the lunker club and I've told myself since I started bass fishing that I would keep one fish over 10 lbs for a trophy. That one tipped the scale right at 10 lbs 2 oz.

I love a good story.

Well the measurement was 26" length and 18" girth, I think it could weight a little more since I put it in the freezer for 3 days before I could bring him to the taxidermist. Caught him on a PJ Pop in tennessy shad(sp)color, the sun just went below the tree top about 7:30 pm, late August. Just imagine someone take a big rock and throw it in the water, that what it sounded like when he hit. What surprised me was he didn't fought all that much, old dude I think. When I got him close enough that I can see him, my knees started shaking real bad and I knew that I'm going to put him on the wall. That picture was taken 8 yrs ago, cost me close to $200 to mount. Caught him out of a nature lake about 500 acres and very deep in East Haven, CT. I worked in CT for 2 yrs right after college. In southern CT most everybody fish salt water, if they go to a lake they'll be trout fishing. The bass fishing was awesome and normally I was the only one on the lake fishing for them. I'm sure there are several more pigs in that lake.

I do not keep wall hangers. There is one that I caught ice fishing that a bud had mounted. It was a 12lb northern on 4lb line with a small jig. I said let it go but he thought it would be a cool match for his 10+ walleye.

Yea no taken the fish away it is large. The one in my pic was caught 2 weekends ago in a pond and it was 7lbs 6oz. Not to bad considering weve caught a 5,4.3/4 and a bunch of 3s in a small, small pond. All of which were released unharmed and to be caught again another day.

Catch a 13+ in Texas, donate it to the Share-a-Lunker Foundation, they harvest her eggs at the hatchery for the stocking program, then return her to you or release her where ever you specify. Plus you get a replica. One bass last year was caught & donated for the second time in two years by the same fisherman.

NOW THATS what im talking about! That is great, and most states should do that. Too bad a 13lber here would never happen but 7s should get the eggs and produce larger fish.

27 years ago, I caught my first (and only) keeper. A 7 & 1/2 pound brown trout, big fat male. I was 16, kept trying to pass the rod to my dad, but he wouldn't take it. He just said "you hooked it, you land it".

Its' hanging on the wall at my parents house, I'll get a pic.

The top two I caught up north. Me and my dad caught the crappies 14-15in. Its not a big musky, but a musky nonetheless.
