Got a new toy to test out eventually...

Well that was a fail. Enertia hits the high performance anode. Looks like I'll need a flat one in order to test. I did lock down my numbers for the Mirage though so I have a base line to compare to.

So I observed some interesting results while testing both props today. I want to crunch the numbers before going further (I'm still on the water so I just have the raw data).

I'll post back tonight.

So... This seems pretty cut and dry to me. Observations are the Enertia is easier to spin and bites better... But overall I think I prefer the Mirage. At wide open the Enertia shoots a small rooster tail. I am open to comments.

Rooster Tail is likely due to Engine Height, or Trim.
There is a big Difference between the two Props on how the Boat Rides in the Water. The Enertia can lift the entire Hull Vertically, not just the Bow
.
I have only been in One Boat that didn't perform well with the Enertia, and that was a 2015 Lund 2025 Impact with a Merc 200 Pro. That hull was a Wild Broncho with the Enertia, even trimmed fully in, and Feather Weight Me ;) in the Bow Area. We had a Tempest Plus on hand, and the Boat behaved

It's funny, I would say regardless of trim it felt like it plowed all the time like it wasn't lifting much at all. The rooster was there tucked in or trimmed out but only running flat out... back down a couple MPH and it disappeared. It had more bite but to me it felt like the mirage had the better manners in the slop. The bay was white capping, the river was flat. My back tells me the mirage was more well behaved in the slop. Which seems to go against what I would expect.

I would also go so far as to say the enertia was very "twitchy" at certain speeds and conditions... Doing figure 8s and circles it felt like I was sliding rather than digging in. It was a very odd experience overall and didn't want to make hard turns at speed, it actually fought me the tighter I went. I want to see what the boat is doing from the outside. My spotter (dad) had some doctors appointments so I was on my own with that.

AV plate is luckily inline with the bottom of the V but with an I/O it would be next to impossible to fix that if it weren't.

I am well aware what I feel may not be what's really happening. I would like to test some more but for now, I think I'll take the lower plane speed and faster overall cruise speed of the mirage. I wonder if my hull just doesn't have enough lift to take advantage of it?

I did a little more testing. The boat is definitely "twitchy" with the enertia. Any little ripple is darting the bow all over the place which is uncomfortable after a while constanly correcting the boat. It doesn't really seem to be any further up out of the water than with the mirage either. I will continue to do more testing next outing maybe switching between the two props.

you can trim the annode with a grinder or get the flat one. Very common for props to hit them other than basic Black Max Al ones

I got best results with a revolution 4 vs a Enertia. Enertia is a very good prop but might not be best for every application.

Would think even with bottom of the V is in a good spot

Yeah. I figured the tiny one would clear most but I guess not all. I knocked it down flat with a file for now.

So I finally got to see the boat for myself. Took video of how awesome it looked. And the card corrupted when I tried to load it to the computer.

So basically what I saw... dad drops the hammer and the bow pops up until about 15 MPH when it comes on plane. Bow then comes right down then whole boat lifts with speed. I don't have a pad or run as fast as you guys do but about the last 2 or 3 feet of boat is all that was left in the water at 45 MPH, daylight for the rest. It doesn't feel like it in the boat though. Dad had a big grin on his face too. He was playing with trim, chine walking turns. Probably brought back memories of his old boats and race team.

Mirage. Got too late in the day to test the Enertia again. We winterized the 330 and temps started to plummet and while excited, he wanted to be done. Didn't want to hurt dad's back anymore either as it's still pretty tender from the surgery anyway. I would be curious what the Enertia looked like as the boat felt "twitchy" with it when I ran it. Maybe next week.

Side note, I am not too upset about losing the boat footage. I am however upset about losing the vacation stuff and Christmas last year. Going to try and recover the files.

Sandisk ultra 128gb, nothing special. Edit: Micro SD.

Yeah, they did a fusion back in august in his lower back to compliment the neck one from March. (Car accident 3 years ago). Doctor told him last month he could start doing light work again along with PT. He asked about the boat and he said to use his judgement but he's far enough in where it'll only cause discomfort. Bay was glass and the only wake was his own so not too bad. And for the record, he told me he was driving it. I didn't ask him to lol.
