Re: Google Earth - Post your house

The blurry pics are in areas that aren't very populated. Apparently it's not worth whatever it costs to take the pic for so few people. Paying for it won't change that.

Do you call an urban area of 350,000 not very populated??

Populations have nothing to do with clarity. These are satelite photos and the quality has to do with the source. ;)

That's true Chief, "population got nothing to do with clarity"; but I think Google obtain a higher resolution images for the metro areas; like New York; LA etc; but for remote area (where population are sparse), Google apparently subscribe to the lower resolution one, thus Google paying less for the service...
My 2 cents :)

And why would they use a multi million dollar satellite to take pictures of unpopulated areas?

Are the photos updated with each satelite pass? Mine is so blurry as to be useless. Fun to look at just the same.

No. The photo of my house is about 3 to 4 years old.

Here tis. I'm the brown-roof home on the left. The boat up front is the venerable "12Footer".
The vessel at the bottom pic (end of road), is the Cobra projuect boat.
Pic was obviouisly taken within a week after "Hurricane Wilma",(November i think) due to vehicle positions.
Wow, I was going to put my house here but when I zoomed in to this location the house does not exist! We have lived here for a year, moved in as soon as the construction was completed!

Because there are lots of people there willing to throw money at Google to show them that picture. ;)

I don't have google earth installed on this computer, but I think its File > Save Image, or something close to that. Then you need to upload it to a picture host such as photobucket.com.

Here is my home in Costa Mesa. It is somewhat out dated since we have added a 2 car garage and master bed/bath above that...

Kevin
