Well, there ya go, box aluminum channel transom..............

Looks like the splashwell and support channel at the bottom have been welded too.

Deck too, sheet aluminum over what (?) to make up the 1/2"-3/4" that would have been the originally installed SC deck?

Hard to beat though, welcome!

Hope any work needed goes great & she gives you years of great service, welcome again.

Picked up PFDs for the family today. Also waiting for a call from Nomad marine next week to get a good going through on the boat and eng.

I don't want to rain on your parade, Traxx - Examine the transom work very closely. To my eyes the welding looks like something I would do and I wouldn't trust it. Your right, I am not a welder, but it doesn't look right to me. The transom is not a place to to have weak structure. Just an opinion and I hope it's just the picture and I am off base.

Your right those are bubblegum welds. That will be addressed before paint.

That is some of the most butt ugly welds I can say I have seen. It does not even look like the welds are burned in, more like they are laying on top of the metal with no real strength. Personally I would grind them off and redo.

It looks like its time to start a refit and thread. After reading MichelP's thread and seeing how nice these can come out.
