Trying to identify this boat. I was told it was a Monark, but old registration came back as a 1995 MAKO 12', this boat is 14'. I hope to attach two pic's, the boat and the rear transom tag MAK03308017. According to US Coast Guard Resource Center. The manufacturers identification code on your boat belongs to BRUNSWICK MARINE MONARK DIV. Link here http://www.uscgboating.org/recalls/mic1.aspx?mic=mak&sort=mic.

Yeah, I don't think Mako ever made any aluminum boats.

Thanks for all the help, being new to this, You can bet on hearing from me again in this forum. I don't think my little 7.5 MERC, is overpowering this thing, but the tag with all the capacities and limits is all worn. I wonder if there is a manual still available for this or similar boat out there. Mostly just curious. Then again, it would be better to know the limits of the boat before I need to hire a dive team to find it on the bottom.......

7HP should be fine on it (might even make it up to a 10HP). You'll have trouble digging up a manual on the boat, but you can look around ebay a little. I've heard that MonArk was a sub brand of Starcraft, dunno' if it's true but you could call them and ask.

Those types of open fishing boats are gems. You can run 'em forever pretty cheap and easy. Best thing about them is that if the motor konks on ya', the oars make getting in rather easy.
