Re: God's not done with you yet

cried like a baby for months, I regret that I was too messed up to be there for the kids. mother in law spent a year in a phsyciatric hospital. it changed me, I tend to see things different now, never sweat the small stuff. Kahuna, glad to hear your daughter will be ok, life is fragile and precious. remember to cherish those you love, its easy to take it all for granted.

There are post like this that remind me how finite our time here on the big blue marble can be.

Sometimes all you can do is look up and say thanks or maybe say why, but you always seem to look into your self to find the answers and they may or not be there, that for me is the upsetting part.

Wow, the flashbacks don't go away. Kahuna, sorry to hear about your daughter and friend. So glad they are both recovering. Many of us have gotten "the call". For me it was the admiral. She was hit head on at high speed by a young idiot who was late for work. Police said the combined speed at impact was approx. 200 kph (120mph). She was off work and in a wheelchair for a year, combined with months of therapy. Coolbri, I am so sorry for your loss. Do not blame yourself, the vehicle, your decisions or anything. It's random and no one is to blame. I look it this way. You drive down a particular road day after day and NOTHING happens. You decided to stop to buy a coffee and carried on without incident. Did getting a coffee save you from getting into an accident. Probable not, but possible. As far as the Jeep goes. The Jeep, in all likelihood, saved my wife's life. Her car wouldn't start and I was out of town, so she took my Jeep, which had a mild lift kit. Because of this the other car went under the Jeep, resulting in popping the motor up and out of the vehicle and crumbling the floor of the Jeep. If I had put a new battery in her car or not installed a lift kit in the Jeep would she be gone now. It's random.

My great friend who is a dentist outside of Cincy I called Sunday after the accident. His first words can she walk and get her on a plane here. I said I have good insurance his response was " I don't care about your money, get her here". He had one of his office staff pick her up at the airport. She was in his chair by 9:30 Am. She has had four root canals and has some temp teeth. He drove her to the Lab today for measurements for a bridge which she gets Friday. She is staying with him and his family. He was already going to drive down here Sat to have some work done on his house here and she is riding with them. There are great people in this world. Anyone needs work done in the Cincy area I have a great reference

So glad all people involved are OK, please tell your daughter to please wear her seat belt. I know this time ir worked out but the odds are against you without a belt.

So to kinda come to the end of this. There are many more bills to come I am sure. I called her today after she was fitted with her new "teeth" , she said" Dad I feel pretty again". After I got off the phone I said thanks.
