Re: Glastron SSV-151 bowrider restoration
It's only worth what you want to put into it. So, it could be well worth it. That is a very cool classic boat. I bought a 15' 1969 Glastron on eBay for low money. I expected just to throw a motor on it and go. Well it turned out the stringers and transom were shot. I found a place that does restoration to old fiberglas boats and had the transom and stringer work done. I restored the gel coat with a product called Vertglas. So, although it was not inexpensive, it was cheaper than buying a comparable modern boat and I get many compliments when out in the lake or harbor. In fact, I have had people pull me over when trailering to ask me questions about it. So, consider what it is worth to you. If it is going to be with you and your kids for years it may be totally worthwhile. They can restore boats now with composite material so they last way beyond the age they were originally manufactured to last. Although this is far away from you, check out the place that did my boat. www.Metanmarine.com
