This is my first post but I want to say thanks in advance for all the info that I've already gotten from reading other threads.
I have a 19' Glassmaster Cuddy that I'm trying to restore. It is, I believe, from the early 60's based on the serial# on the MFG plate. It has been out of the water for at least 10 years. I have many questions but I'll start where I started.
The hull was painted red. I sanded away the red paint and found a mahoganey paint? beneath. I sanded that down and have come to a white, chalky coverage(gel-coat?). The white has crazing throughout but just a couple spots that are right down to the teal color/fiberglass. My intention was to sand the entire bottom down to the white and then wet sand in increasing paper grits until smooth and fill in the few dents/dings with an epoxy repair kit. I then plan to apply a coat or 2 of Interlux Interprotect 2000e/2001e. Even though ther is no visible damage to the hull, I want to do what I can to renew it and add to it's water tightness. Am I on the right track? Thanks in advance.

Ayuh,.... Instead of grinding through all the Colors,...

Sand it S M O O T H , fill the imperfections, then sand S M O O T H E R ....

Then prime,... Sand S M O O T H E R yet, then paint...
