My 1956 Evinrude Lark 30hp (model 25526) has a glass gasoline filter bowl (part 303967) and gasket for that (part 302675). While it nice to be able to see the filter to detect debris (if any), it is a bit worrisome that it could crack or break. Is there a metal bowl available that could be substituted?

they are hard to break unless dropped....
if you do not want to mess with it remove the filter inside and install an external one on the incoming fuel line. . kwick and easy to replace :)

since the inbound fuel will be pressurized by the tank check if any restrictions regarding PSI tolerance if any (few pounds)

You will win the lottery 2-3 times before that glass bowl breaks on it's own with normal use

Every car truck and tractor from about that era and before had a glass bowl sediment filter. Unless you drop them or store it full of water there not breaking on their own.

Your tank has a pick up filter . If you drain your carbs regularly clogging won't be an issue.
