I just removed the outdrive on my 89 omc 3 litre(omc cobra).I wanted to do some maintenance and get my skeg fixed.The gimbal bearing looks good has lots of grease and rolls with no noise,Should I change this anyway while I'm in here.At trolling speed last year depending on how far the motor was trimmed in or out the odd time you would hear a bit of a whine from the outdrive ,this would immediately go away with the turn of the steering or on trim up or down .Someone mentioned to me that this noise could be the gimbal bearing.
