Had my Gimbal bearing replaced on my 99' Bravo 2 in the spring. Had aprrox. 3 tsp of water in the area, u-joints were o.k. could not find a leak- however less than 60 days later the same noise is back. A friend/ mechanic? says it sounds like the bearing is dry- if I can get grease into the bearing am I safe to finish out the year before re-pulling the drive? Or if there is water intrusion does that ruin the bearing that fast?
Thanks,
Joe
