Not too many for me so far. Unfortunately the ones I've lost have been in their 40s (I'm 58). Those hit hard.

I’ve been lucky….lost a couple in my twenties but nothing until last winter.

Lost my dad and my best friend of 49 years 9 days apart, both from heart attacks

Lost three from last year to this year. Now I have colon cancer, But the last ct scan showed it almost gone. Appointment in Duluth today to scedule getting my colon bag off my chest. Feel pretty darn good from the chemo, better than most they tell me. Still go out on the side by side, and run chainsaw, yardwork!

I'm down to just one friend left who's an old guy like me. And he lives over 1,000 miles away. We haven't seen each other for 7 years, but do keep in close touch.

Had another one pass away this evening.

Dammit. :(
this and also, it seems as we age just due to the way of the world we seem to lose touch, i have thought about it alot and i do get it. Life, kids, work, time with the family it all gets in the way of hanging out with freinds. Its sad that we are not better of working around this but sadly most people just succumb to and accept this as the norm.

Doesnt seem like it has to be, friendship is important, we should try harder to maintain it.

Many try to fill the void using facebook, and other social media. But "liking" posts and tweets is not the same as picking up the phone and actually talking to them. Got rid of FB 5 years ago and haven't looked back......

My friends and I were always really good about keeping in close touch. Phone, texting, email and internet helped a lot. I keep in daily touch with my daughter as well. But sometimes, time just runs out. 😐

My remaining old guy buddy (I'm 71 and he's 74) have known each other for 44 years (from being in the USAF together) and have done a ton of stuff over the years. He knew my 4 friends who have passed over the last several years. We're both hoping that we can get together again very soon. Last time I saw him was 7 years ago up at his place. His turn to come down here. I could sure use some boat help! 🙃

I don't use FB to keep in touch.

I just use it to watch the funny/silly/stupid reels and for Marketplace!

Yep^^^

Unexpectedly lost a former coworker turned friend last weekend. Awesome fella, good friend.

I'm 58 and have known my longest friend 55yrs, need to make time to go see him outside Albuquerque. Every spring we talk about 1 of us crossing the country to visit the other in the fall. Summer comes, we talk on our birthdays, 3 days apart in May, and we let the fall trip pass us by....

We're working on it. Budget and logistics is an issue for both of us. He'd gotten a round trip fare for $88 and was going to use it to meet up with me and the bud who passed a couple weeks ago. But, it was too late. Right now we're shooting for October, closer to the end of hurricane season.

Similar thing happened to me 3 years ago. Waited just a bit too long, then it was too late.

I wish! 😃
