Just my personal opinion, I do IT security, I have presented at well known 'computer security' conventions, one of which was in Las Vegas a week or so ago... I don't use mobile payment systems. Enough said!
Back to the OP, marinas will increase the authorization to $250 because of the cost of fuel at a marina, usually an 80-125% markup from the nearest gas station on land. Why? Because lakefront property isn't cheap and they have bills to pay.
Ignoring the cost of the the property, imagine what the insurance costs for on-the-water fueling! Selling gas, either on land or on water, isn't much of a money maker.

I agree, its more of a convenience and a way to get you in the marina to buy boat parts and upgrades.... sell, sell, sell. Just in case you did not know, boaters have lots of money to spread around. :wink:
