Getting 1st Covid/Pfizer shot romorrow

Haven't really been looking but my CVS has plenty of openings now, 1st shot tomorrow, have heard TOTALLY different post symptoms from friends, 2nd shot will be May 19 , I'm not high risk, but it'll be nice to get it out of the way , maybe feel more secure

I have always been reluctant but after my brother died from COVID me and the wife got our first shot on Easter Sunday . We take second shot this Sunday at Walgreens..
Hoping for no side effects but if there’s a chance it keeps us out of the hospital I guess it’s worth the risk ..

I had covid a few weeks back. They won't vaccinate me for 90 days. Doesn't quite jive with CDC but oh well.

There is a wide range of reactions to the shot, the second shot seems to be the most. I felt tired the day after getting the second shot, but was fine thereafter. Others that I know have run fevers and felt sick for a few days.

If you were to actually get COVID, it is hard to say how it will play out. Some are fine and others get deathly ill. Probably best to get the vaccine, as you never know what side of the odds you will be on, if you go unprotected.

I had my first Moderna shot on Feb 3rd and my second on Mar 5th.

I didn't have any bad reactions to either shot. Sore arm for a day or two, only at the injection site, but nothing else.

I'm high risk and I have to tell you that it really took a load off my mind to be fully vaccinated. I go out in the world with impunity now.

My wife had both of her shots (Pfizer) a few weeks after me and feels the same way.

I've had both Moderna shots (last one was 6 days ago) and I had COVID last November. I had 'vigorous' immune response to both vaccine shots (aka, I felt pretty awful for about 36 hours) but it was nothing compared to having COVID and being sick for two weeks. Getting vaccinated is well worth it, IMO.

So far, the worst I've heard about the 2nd vax is passing out. A guy I know passed out on his way home from the 2nd vax, totaled his car. Lucky he didn't die or kill someone else. The 2nd was my mother the day after the 2nd vax. She had to be brought into the emergency room. Alot of people feel ill after the 2nd vax, others are fine. I'm still on the fence with the whole thing...

Most my family are all done and only 2nd shot issues was feeling tired and wanting to stay in bed. Mine was just a sore arm both times, wife the same

Both the wife and I had our second dose of Pfizer about 2 weeks ago. First dose I had no side effects. Wife had a slightly sore arm. 2nd dose I had a sore arm and was tired for about a day. Wife was also tired, but her arm was a lot more sore than mine. She could not raise it above her head without a lot of discomfort. I'm happy that's behind us.

Got 2 Pfizer shots in Jan/Feb. Had a sore arm for a couple of days and felt tired, a little more after the second shot. Tiredness lasted maybe 3 days. After both shots I sat in a waiting room for 15 minutes and never felt like fainting.

I'm still masking up and not getting close to people. I'm not taking any chances.

Over half a million Americans have died from covid19 and many who survived have lasting and permanent significant side effects from Covid. And it’s not just older high risk people. I personally know 2 people ages 37 and 40, both with no co morbidity , in good health who died from the disease. For my wife and I the vaccinations were a no brainer. We got the Pfizer vaccinations. No side effects other than minor slight fatigue the second day.

I'm 70, 6'2" and over 300lbs, so yes, for a year, just a little concerned.....

First shot was a non-event, but a huge relief as everybody was dealing with unorganized attempts to pass out the shots hear in Fl. Finally WAL MART to the rescue!

2nd shot, nothing related to pain at all, but the few days afterward there was a very definite "lack a wanna" (no/little motivation) to do anything...

I followed the CDC and WHO closely for months, and because of that, there is no way I can put faith in the vaccine being both safe and effective. Then again, I only know 1 person that has had the vaccine and it was either accept the vaccine or get fired. He had to call in sick for a day or two, but I don't recall the details.

After my second shot, one of the attending medical staff asked me how I was going to celebrate. I told her the same way I usually celbrate - double my fluid intake

One of the best things that I liked about getting vaccinated was that I went back to my regular barber and got my hair cut for real! My wife really butchered my stepson's hair and I barely let her touch mine at all. I actually had enough hair for a small ponytail.

The barber hadn't seen me for over a year and thought I may have been caught by the virus. He was glad to see us. And he urged me not to let my wife cut our hair anymore!

Around here we can get a haircut but you have to take a number and sit in your vehicle until the number is displayed in the window. One at a time but better then letting my wife at it! I got my first shot 1 1/2 wks ago, no side affects at all except a good sense of relief!

I had a slightly sore arm and was cold and tired the evening of my first Pfizer shot. No real event after the second. My wife had no effect after the first, but was sick with flu like symptoms for a day after the second one. Daughter got the Moderna ... slight effect after the first, flu like symptoms for 36 hours starting 24 hours after the second vaccine.

I wouldn't hesitate to get vaccinated. My concern is that eventually one of these variants will evolve to beat the vaccine then we have to start all over again! I suspect we may be getting new vaccines for covid every year or two same as flu shots....

I am on the fence as well. The vaccine doesn't protect you from getting Covid, not does it guarantee you would get seriously ill from Covid OR the vaccine. And since they are reporting how many still came down with Covid and even people getting seriously ill from the vaccine, I asking myself, exactly what is the vaccine actually doing for you. And now I am hearing that you will have to get booster shots regularly and the Covid WILL mutate as something the vaccine won't protect against. IDK. I don't think anyone actually knows about the vaccine or the mutations at this stage. JMHO
