I have a 2000 19ft Sea Pro DC with 2000 115 Johnson. Have a few dings on the prop. Is it more advisable to have it reconstructed or it is better to simply replaced (pretty small dings)? Along the same lines, should I be looking at a different style prop? The current one appears to be the standard 3 blade, I'm guessing 19pitch. What would be the benefits of changing the pitch? Also, is a 4 blade prop a consideration? Advantages/disadvantages? Thx, sd

h2, I'm going to send your post over to "Prop Topics and Questions". Wallyeyed over there and a bunch of others can give you the answers you need.

If you've got a 19P on that boat, I'll bet you're in the low 5000's at best. 6000RPM is the target RPM for that 60 degree looper with a normal load.
I'd recommend you have your 19 repaired for a spare and get/borrow a prop in a 17 or even a 15P and test it.
Get the Data and we can make a choice from there. For that size of boat, I'd say the prop with the larger diameter in aluminum will show the best results.
