gear shaft

I was changing the water pump today and the long gear shaft broke at the spline. I looked up what I think is the part. 1989 200 Black Max. Please tell me this part is not $850.00. I already have it out from the little roll pin in the cowl and pulled it out from the bottom.

Which part are you talking about? Do you mean the long shift shaft? I sent you the parts list before, why not use it to point out the part?

I am on mobile. I looked at the parts list and was shocked. I will check again and paste the part. I hope I am looking at the wrong part but yes it is the long one. The parts list looks like it shows the assembly as three shafts.

Yes thats the one. Tough part to find and the price varies a pretty good swing from retailers. It also looks like I found a different way to get it out. I hope I can get it back in.
My dad is a TV repair man. He has an ultimate set of tools. I can fix it.
