I have a mercruiser alpha one,190 stern drive..I know I'm old and stuff,lol but I cant find the fill screw,,I see the vent screw up near the top,but don't see any fill screw near the bottom...am I that far gone,or am I missing something..please help

Ayuh,.... Welcome Aboard,...... AD must be thinking of his Bravo drive,.....
On yer Alpha 1 drive, the drain/ fill screw is down low, portside, near the front bulge of the drive,.....

On the Bravo, it's behind the prop,...

For what it's worth, there was a time where it was recommended to cover the drain plug screw with an black rtv type silicone to make the areas smooth so maybe it got covered up....In doing so it was theorized to create less air bubbles to the prop to help with performance but that mostly started with the early bravo drives that drained near the nose cone like shown in AD's post above that I'm aware of.... Supposedly that is why the drain plug is now behind the prop on bravos.
