So, I didn't know the shape of my motor when I bought it last year (1970 115 Evinrude), I sourced out some Premium blend oil and I just wanted you guys to see how the oil looked.

Should I have changed it?

Was the motor running shortly before you drained the oil ?-----It does make a difference when you drain the oil.-----10 minutes or 2 days ?

I didn't start the motor, let it drain a couple hours, hooked up my pump to the vent and pumped some air in to push the oil out. Then I pumped some fresh oil into the vent and let most of that drain out, then filled it.

Since you have fresh oil mixed with the old, I bet the old looked more milky. Yep, it needed changing. Looks like you have moisture in it.

Have the gear case pressure and vacuumed checked. That way you'll know if you have any leaks.
