[h=2]Open Bow 19' I/O Boat - $4200 (hollister)[/h] http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sby/boa/4762874630.html

I have a 19 foot open bow boat for sale .... has inboard/outboard engine ... needs a little sprucing up and a little body work, but once that is all fixed, youll have a nice lil boat on your hands ..... Will not float at this time, but if you have cash, in person, we can give it a go. Engine was submersed in salt water for only about 3 weeks, the outside of engine looks decent, the prop is missing, although im sure its still on the bottom of the harbor,

Comes with all safety equipment that has been checked, verified and used at last outing.

If you wanna take it for a spin, cmon down ... i can tow you around on the trailer (not included) so youll get a feel of what it will be like once this baby hits the water again!!!!

thx for checking out my posting, hopefully will see you soon!

Wont last long at this price ... no looky lous or tire kickers!

This guy must be a jokester.....lol

I agree the ad must be a joke, got to give him credit for having a sense of humor after totaling his boat.

Yeah, I was going to start my own thread just to vent, but this thread seemed to be on topic. The paper mache trailer was such a fine work of art, I wish I had taken a picture to share with you.

Have some promising boats on the visit list today. Fingers crossed. Hoping a drive away from the city will net me a better catch. I found a lovely boat car on a local CL I need to list here... Just need to find it again. It is a real gem.

:welcome: Wayne... yeah your budget of 7k puts you right in the middle of the no mans land used boat nightmare range that so many guys have to wade through to find that one gem. I guess it could be done but you're in it for long haul. It sucks there are so many dishonest boat owners out there that are the cause of the boats demise and then want top dollar for their garbage they've created.

Yup, this is what I've learned as well. If you have $10K+, there are some great turnkey boats out there. If you have time and energy and a couple grand, you can rebuild one. In the middle of those two options seems to be a bunch of questionable and/or overpriced junk. But keep looking, there are some good ones in that range, they just sell right away.

After having a couple boats somewhere around $3k or $10 is where you want to buy. My last boat was $2300 and was great for the 7 years we had it. Only normal maintenance items had to be done. I sold it for $100 more than I originally paid. The new to us boat was bought for under $9k but not by much. This was our second year on it. When you get in the $7k range it is usually people asking to much for an old boat or someone asking to much for a broken boat. It took me 2 months of searching and upping my budget from $5k to $9k to find something reasonable.

next time, please do. We LOVE pics and from your post I think you will fit in just fine here.

Seriously - I'm semi new here but these guys will help you 100 times a day. Start a thread with your criteria, tow vehicle, location and timeline and we'll all jump in - for better or for worse.

Don't you hate it when you post a picture of your boat and realize there's a random naked guy walking around in the background?

The owner of that ad is one very sick individual. That boat crashed in Florida, killing 5 people. It was overloaded, and being driven by an inexperienced driver after a visit to a bar.

Ha ha... you have a boat for sale...

That's a genius idea for speed launching! Ok, maybe the outdrive will hit the trailer crossmember, but who cares?
It doesn't have a motor or drive so you don't have to worry about that. Don't forget your paddle though.

That document was interesting reading. I learned a new word, Allision.

And yes, that ad was in very poor taste, taking a pic from a fatal accident report.
