Granted not 10k worth, but however I do like that little boat. I would shell out 3k for everything. as long as the motor ran good, boat was solid, and the trailer was nice.

I don't know much about boats but I don't think the seller will get full asking price...lol

In the Detroit boat section we have a guy that comments on things he thinks absurd. It is like a little comic relief while searching for my diamond in the rough.

Okay, I FINALLY found one

http://hudsonvalley.craigslist.org/boa/1602595832.html

You want to see it run? Oh, it'll run alright, but I don't have to prove that to you...

Why don't they run it on muffs in the driveway?

I find it hard to believe that those 2k motors have not even been in the water. Who invests that kind of $$ to let a boat sit around?

I finally score!

I finally score!

I laugh when I look at them but then realize they really aren't funny for anyone else, until now. Everyone else is using pictures from last fall. Not this one.

Sandstone in color with an open bow an 65hrsp Johnson outboard. Needs throttle /ignition cable replaced and a bench seat for the back that is just plywood.Been sitting but a great project boat. It runs but i went directly to the starter cause of the cable. Had a small leak in the rear but i patched that with fiberglass an its fine now. The trailer tires need replaced but they are the small ones. two seats with windsheilds. Hits between 35-45mph.

It probably needs the tires after they popped from all the snow weight.
I'd love to see the fiberglass patch job he did. For some reason I picture the drain hole being glassed over.

I wonder where that price came from? It's probably what they owe on it.
It's a bit underpowered as well, I'd say nothing less than a 40hp to move that thing.
The hull is probably worth somewhere in the $4-5K range, another $800 for the trailer if its nice and maybe $1200 for that motor. And that's if everything is mint and you find someone that's willing to pay full retail for it, and wants such a small motor.

I guess some people figure that interest paid on a loan adds to the value?

That would actually be an awesome boat for fishing horsepower restricted lakes. That is, of course, if the price were at all realistic.

Their neat boats but they're made of some sort of plastic I believe.
They also weigh pretty heavy, get that thing aground in a shallow pond and you'll have fun getting it unstuck. I had an old aluminum Grumman Bass boat years ago that weighed over 800lbs with all the wood floors, 15hp motor rebadged as a 9.9, and all the gear onboard. It would often get hung up in those small lakes with hp limits and getting it free was a real pain. It got stuck in the mud one day back up a feed creek and it took four hours to get it back down to the main lake after the water dropped a few inches. I go in there these days all the time in my 14' V hull, if it gets stuck, I just pole it back out. That Triumph probably weighs in over 1,000 lbs with it's motor, maybe even more than that. A buddy had one for a while and the hull was made out of some sort of plastic, like those cheap pedal boats at Tractor Supply.
He finally wore through the keel beaching it and there was no real way to fix it so he buttered it up with epoxy and sold it cheap. I don't think I'd bother with one unless it was really clean and really cheap.
