Found another good one.
lake erie boat

using his numbers and some simple math. he should invest the 3000 dollars in to it and double his asking price. he'd be up 5K more when it sells.

Then he can learn that POS is NOT worth what the guy says it is.

In the ad he says he "had a professional come out and appraise it" but he doesn't specify what kind of professional. Perhaps it was a professional dog catcher, or house painter, or trash hauler, or.............?

Sounds like a professional con man. Two weeks and $2k to make it like new? My guess is he would get a power washing for that price and never see the guy again. Doesn't look like a $2k trailer either.

Hell,for 3grand I'd power wash,light wet sand,compound,buff wax,and throw a quart of bilge paint in. Thats 3 days of work @ $1000 a day, plus I'd take 3 days off work,paid!
Am I a con man,no,, I'd tell him its not worth it but if thats what he wants I'll do it. Lol

I often see a lot of things like that, but its normally no title or reregistration and I assume its stolen boats and trailers. Like this one.

Makes me think that maybe it filled up with water or ice and the rollers punched through the hull on one side?

I actually did score a hell of a deal I think. Guy had a 1988 Four Winns 180 Horizon and trailer listed for $250. I called him up and went to take a look at it. He had it stored for the winter in a storage unit. With all of the snow that we got in Western Michigan this winter (160" here), the roof of the storage unit collapsed. The owner of the unit had probably 20 boats inside and at least 15 antique cars. I felt bad. Anyway, checked out the boat. It was full of insulation and the port windshield and center walkthrough had been crushed. Trailer was in great shape minus a busted jack and a busted tail light. I told the guy I would take it. Figuredworst case scenario, the boat doesn't run, I sell the trailer for $750 - $1000 and then part the boat. Best case scenario, I get a running boat and a trailer for $250. Cleaned out the insulation this weekend. Hooked a water line up to the stern drive. Turned the key with fingers crossed. The engine turned over 3 times then fired up. It purred like a kitten for 5 minutes with me testing the throttle and the gears. It was all good. Got a windshield for it yesterday. I am totally stoked. Runs well, looks decent. All for $250.
