I'd be more concerned with the 6+ inches of water in the boat. The boat on the right has even more.

The sign on the trailer is actually worth a couple hundred or more depending on condition.

You're looking at it all wrong 64...he's doing a leak-test for potential buyers :p

12 ft Aluminum Boat

Judging by the first picture, I'm not so sure this guy is the best judge as to what is and isn't junk.

The max capacity is 5 people or 300 lbs. That's an average of 60 lbs per person. If you start with my 200 lbs your fishing alone or with two children under the age of 7.

Sadly, I don't think this is a typo.

20 Ft Pontoon Boat with Mercury Motor

Completely Remodeled in 2009 and installed a BRAND NEW Motor, Carpet, and Furniture.
Boat was used only one summer and then we sold our dock at Lake Viking.
1987 Bass Pontoon Boat with JLM Trailer
20 ft. Outboard Aluminum
2009 Mercury Motor (Barely Used)
Gas Powered 40 HP, Powered Tilt and Trim
Asking $9500 or best offer.

Granted it has a new motor but the furniture is sparce and basic and the carpet in the one shot I could see looks like it has some issues. I just can't see $9500 for a 27 year old 20ft toon with a rusty trailer and a 5 year old 40hp outboard.

For a little over $3K more I just bought a 2006 21' Suntracker with a like new trailer and a 90HP Merc with 80 hours on it.

Yea Bruce and I bet your trailer wasn't rusty either. LOL. Maybe the seller will call the rust "patina"?

haha... how dumb some people think we are.....you could probably paddle twice as fast. plus the canoe wont float in any shallower water!!!!!!!!!!!!!!ha haha

Looks like maybe a 5hp engine on that... Just did the math, a 3hp engine with a 28" prop with 14" of pitch spinning at 3600 rpm will give you 23 pounds of thrust, and a speed of 47.7 mph. I'm not sure I'd want to take that canoe for a ride!

(granted, his picture isn't a 28" prop either, the smaller you go, the higher the pitch needs to go up if you don't want to blow up the engine, and the less your static thrust is... Hence, the leafblower above. Very high exit speed, very low static thrust. Great for a high speed vehicle, but not great for dragging a hull through the water.)

There's no way that boat was running last year!

I have a theory about boats sitting and the time space continuum (kinda like dogs live 7 years to our 1). Ahem...so if you own an operational boat and use it regularly then 1 year = 1 year, pretty straight forward? Now, if you have a boat sitting idle for over 1 year then time slows down and 1 year (or last year in the case above) equals approximately 2 years. Example: when I purchased my CC the PO stated it hadn't been used in 5 years...the last trailer registration and boat registration was 2004 (I got the boat in late 2013)?

Just a theory...I'm probably wrong!

A boat at my marina has been running the ICW every year. Registration sticker is 2008. Just shows how the LEOs watch anything but bikinis..

I bought a 2004 boat in 2013 that had the original license plate expiration of 2005 on the trailer. Guy had been towing it around for 7 years on expired tabs with no issue. He was a very smart well off attorney but looked puzzled on it when I questioned him on it.

Minnesota right? it was about then they went to the perm tag by the coupler.. LEO's NEVER look for that. they'd have to put their coffee and doughnut down and really turn their head to see the sticker as the drive by.

My boat has current stickers, the trailer.. 1990.. why? it goes .25 miles on private roads to the launch. No need to tag the trailer.
