Fuel tank sending unit

Removed my sending unit to inspect, found the reading to be erratic, my old sending units range is 240 to 30 ohms, I can pick up one local but the reading is 240 to 35 ohm's . Question is HOW much of a difference will those 5 ohm's make on my level indication from my tank to my gauge .

with what I know about ohms is the lower fuel level is where it would differ the most. What's the possibility of adjusting the gauge (if it has that capability) or replacing the gauge to match the sending unit?

It should be fine, the normal range is 33-240 Ohms.

Probably within the manufacturing tolerance for those things.
