Should I replace my fuel tank now that I am doing a resto?

It is a 1994 Inca Cross Linked Poly tank.

I pressure tested and checked for cracks, all ok. I am now about to put the floor over it, and am hesitating.

Thoughts?

Pic is from the when I was tearing everything out.

The nice part about these poly tanks is there are no rust worries !! As long as there are no worn spots, cuts or any other damage to the outside, why bother....being a 94, you are well past the early days when plastic tanks first came out and they had seams that could leak and other issues. Looks like you mught have some corrosion on metal fittings, but those should be easily replaced without replacing the entire tank. Your call, but I wouldnt waste my money...

It's getting old and plastic does break down over time unfortunately not fast enough so it should last a while. I guess it comes down to how long you need the boat and if you have the resources to replace..

For me I would for the piece of mind, if you have the $$ to do so then I personally would. It's alot easier to do it now then it will be once the floor is reinstalled.

Murphy's Law states that as soon as you lay the floor down the tank will start to leak.

So, if you can go the distance, sure get a new tank.

Ayuh,...... UV light rots plastics,..... Not much sunlight under a boat deck,......

I'd run it, without a 2nd thought,.....

I second @Bondo
No reason to replace it unless there is damage. Replace all the fuel hoses, as well as the sending unit. Secure it in the coffin, forget about it. Mine was a tank from 1990. I cleaned it up, and reinstalled it without a second thought. No worries in the least.
