Hey everyone, looking for a little help, here is the story.
On a 1999 15 hp Johnson, it started having hard starts and bad idles.
It finally just quit cranking up, so I figured I had water in the carb, so I remove the bowl screw and no fuel came out even after pumping the fuel bulb. I then inspected the filter on the engine and was getting fuel to there. Re-assembled, no fuel to carb. I took the line a loose from the filter to the carb, pumped the bulb and was getting fuel to the end of the hose that used to go to the carb. So put it all together again, pump the bulb and fuel came out the drain hole on the carb. Put the screw back in the bowl, and cranked the engine, although it would not idle.
I did not mess with it for a week or so, and now it won't crank, and again, no fuel coming out the carb bowl.
Would the floats sticking do this? If so, what should I do, take it off and apart and clean it? Is there anything else to do? Anything else it could be?
Thanks, I really want to go catch some flounder soon!
Chris
