I don't think we'll get an answer, he stopped responding to this thread and started another one, and his last post was Oct 27th.

I would really like to know what the problem was though.

Re: Fuel Leak + No Spark Plugs but runs great - help - 115 HP

I have had a simular problem but my 2 cylinders were not firing because of the electronic ignition being bad. I didn't see the difference in power on my 1989 Evenrude V6 GT150 it rocked with the four cylinders but it used alot of gas. Most likely because of having to turn the two cylinders that werent firing. After replacmet of the CDI it started easier, ran smoother smoked less and when trying to power through big waves it did much better- Hydroplaning much nicer.

You sould take a compression guage and check the two cylinders that weren't firing and see if they match the other working cylinders. Surprisingly the piston and rings were in good shape mine were the same as the others.

I also still have a fuel leak comming from the VRO pump (mixes oil and gas)
when the fuel primer bulb is squeezed. Comming from a round disk just above the gas input.

Any advise - should I replace the VRO pump whopping $350!!! or is there a rebuild kit. or is it okey to run with it like this is just a liittle gas comes out while squeezing. I don't know if it comes out while running. I doubt it. I wonder if air can go in where the gas is comming out and mess up the mixture.

I would like to thank all the guys/and or gals who posted on this thread. I have visited this site several times as a guest just reading tech issues and gaining some advice. I landed on this thread tonight looking for spark plugs for my evinrude 115. ....I registered tonight after reading every post on this thread...I laughed for awhile and then was curious as to what was wrong with this guy's motor. I could hardly wait to get to the end and he gave the answer....Oh well he didn't do that and it must have been his intention all along......sort of like reading Mark Twain.....there's a twister at the end of the tale and we all get hooked.......I did learn a lot of tech knowledge for trouble shooting my 115 from the real guys in this thread..... In other words it was fun to read and thanks. A good read for the New Year. ....iamfishing.

That had to be one stange sounding engine when running at the dock. How could it possibly go that long without someone making a comment. Yesterday a man was offered a used 9.5 carb. for $800. Today we have a boat that was bought, and run for a year with a V-4 engine with 2 plug's missing. I must have had something all wrong in this repair business. Stick a pencil down the spark plug hole. The piston's may not even be there. If not, look under the rear seat.
