Fuel Connector Assembly - how do you remove brass seal ring retainer??

How do you remove the little brass seal ring retainers on an older 2 line fuel system (Fuel Connector Housing Assembly)? After 50 years, the o-rings are shot. (I've tried to attach a photo, but don't know if it will show) Thanks to all of you in advance. Del
