Fuel coming out carb throat

Performing my link-n-sync after replacing some of the linkage and this time I had the silencer off. I noticed fuel collecting on the bottom of the carb throat in front of the choke plates. Not a lot but enough to be the culprit of my continual puddle of fuel under the carbs and the wet gaskets on the lower bowl.

No tilting was performed during this process.

Is this a symptom of a faulty/mis-adjusted float?
Or something else?

Yep, bad float, mis-adjusted float, gunk in the float valve, or just plain worn out float valve.

With carbs this old, I've discovered that many can have the needle valve seats plain worn out. Also, the pivot holes for the float can be worn giving too much play in the float. And then there's varnish build-up. If you can, I'd recommend having it cleaned, inspected and rebuilt by someone who really knows his business. Then next time you'll have an easy time rebuilding it yourself.
