It was a refreshing morning to say the least, the clear sky and sun felt good though. My birdbath had a layer of ice on it, guessing the tomatoes are done for the year.

Didn't freeze here but it was 38f when I got up this morning. Had to light the fire when I got off work to heat the house up.

I replaced the head gasket on my snowblower this morning. I am going to winterize the pool this weekend. I might just put the boat up soon as I'm not using it with school back in session. Not my favorite time of year.

No No No, we got frost this morning! Its about 3 weeks early for this area. Of course I needed heat in my service van this morning and to find my blower quit. Then last night one of my 120volt lines from the meter base to a disconnet went dead. Now I got to replace the disconnect before going to the boat this afternoon. Bummer,,,just hope the Dock 2 Fish Fry goes well on Saturday.

Yesterday, the propane guy showed up. I was a little surprised, didn't think we needed gas yet. Asked him how much was left? He didn't think we had enough to get us through the night. Yes, I turned the heat on last night. We have a 500 gal tank. They fill to 80%(approx) which is 400 gals. He put in 418 gals! $890 and it's only Sept!

I use the same water coil in the furnace for cooling and heating. Mad scramble Wednesday night to turn it over to heating. (Involves pumping in a little anti-freeze.)

I heard a complaint today that my Redwell apples are tooooo sweet. Redwell, and Haralson really get good after the first real cold night.

Re: Frost on the Punkin!

Got new trailer tags and fishing license so I could go out for my birthday weekend and it was pretty chilly yesterday morning! Been over 90 forever until just now... But I'm not complaining since at least we got some rain with it! Hadn't seen any of that in a LOOOOONG while. Supposed to be upper 80s this next week with lows in the 60s. Maybe we'll actually get some fall weather for once. Usually we have two seasons here, summer and winter. :D Glad I've still got a couple months until I have to put up for the season and store the OBs indoors.

I quit fishing when my boat slides more than 8 feet before breaking through the ice.

Re: Frost on the Punkin!

I'm just a wimp. ;) If it's below 60 and I don't have a little cuddy cabin to duck into to warm up in, I'll pass. My little aluminum boat is no fun for me in the cold!
Good thing I can pop down to the coast where the family has a few places if the bug hits! Always a boat and willing captain (uncle/cousin) close by! And here it's not odd to get a nice mid 70s day in Dec-Feb so it's no big deal to pop the little OB on the transom and head out to the local lake. Or just do some shore fishing if I get lazy. :D
By the way, Bubba, if the thread title is related to the James Taylor song, "Walking Man", I just want to say I love that track!
