Hi

I just bought a 1990 Formula 242 with a Bravo 1 sterndrive and what I am told is a high performance, rebuilt Mercriuser 502. modified to produce 450+ HP.

I would like to convert to Fresh water closed full system cooling

Does anyone have experience with this?

Thanks
Eric

Re: fresh water cooling

Howdy,

I installed a San Jaun kit on my 97 454/Bravo installation in 2006. I got the kit from http://www.oceaneastmarine.com/ and it was shipped directly from San Jaun Engr.

If was fairly easy to install (I had the engine on a stand) and works well.

There could be a problem if you have a rusty block & manifolds........ (or they have more than about 100 salt water hours on them)

Cheers,

Rick
