A co-worker found a mint 92' 70hp. Would you consider this for a family's first boat engine on a 17'? and if so, what would be a fair price or would you pay? are parts becoming a problem? I know around me they are avoided.

Thanks

After some searching on the forum here I see there is a parts availability issue. That to me is a deal breaker regardless how clean. It is my understanding it would be near $1500 with some assistance for hook-up.

I don't think parts are a problem for someone who knows where to seek them. The big problem I see with Forces is that the owner really needs to be competent to service and repair. Finding a shop that will work on them is a big problem.

$1500 should get you a nice motor from another brand you can still get parts and service for.
