Force 150 Manual, What is DVA Voltage?

The power pack on my 91 Force 150 is a thunderbolt type and listed in the manual to check it I need a volt meter that reads DVA voltage, not DCV or ACV. The power pack turns 12 volts into 260 volts for the switch box. I have a regular volt meter and either my power pack on my project motor is fryed or my volt meter doesn't read DVA voltage. <br /><br />Would appreciate any comments on this Thanks!

It is peak voltage. Most voltmeters read in RMS voltage. You can still use a normal meter, but only as a go/no-go test. Generally, the standard RMS meter will read a bit less than halfd of DVA voltage...Or, you can use a peak-reading meter...Or you can get an adapter(click here) for your existing meter (much cheaper).

Thanks 12Footer! <br />What your saying is that I can use my standard meter, but it will measure much less, say around 120-130 volts DC instead of 250-260 volts if it was DVA, is that correct?
