Force 150 Manual, What is DVA Voltage?

The power pack on my 91 Force 150 is a thunderbolt type and listed in the manual to check it I need a volt meter that reads DVA voltage, not DCV or ACV. The power pack turns 12 volts into 260 volts for the switch box. I have a regular volt meter and either my power pack on my project motor is fryed or my volt meter doesn't read DVA voltage.

Would appreciate any comments on this Thanks!

It is peak voltage. Most voltmeters read in RMS voltage. You can still use a normal meter, but only as a go/no-go test. Generally, the standard RMS meter will read a bit less than halfd of DVA voltage...Or, you can use a peak-reading meter...Or you can get an adapter(click here) for your existing meter (much cheaper).

Thanks 12Footer!
What your saying is that I can use my standard meter, but it will measure much less, say around 120-130 volts DC instead of 250-260 volts if it was DVA, is that correct?
