fogging carbs for winter storage

i have a ttached a pic of my motor just wondering if i have to take this cover off to fogg the carbs and if so is there anything i have to becarful of or is there another way to fog them . thanks

Nothing will jump out at you!

Simply remove the bolts and plate, and you will see the carb throats. Run the motor with stabilizer in the fuel for a good 15 minutes before doing this. Spray fogging oil into the throats until the motor starts to die. Then remove the plugs, and spray a little into each cylinder, then re install plugs.

Be sure to drain and re fill gear case, using new o rings on drain and vent screw as well, since if there is water in there it could crack your gearcase.

Store it upright to allow water to drain from cooling system. Spray some anti corrosion on block and the like.

There is an easier way. You should be able to upgrade the red lever on the primer solenoid. OMC makes an upgraded (replacment) which is easy to install. It has the schrader valve in it. Once installed, you can inject the aerosol fogging fluid into that valve with a hose. It will go directly into each carb. Pretty slick. The part you need is a 175158. About $ 7. That adapter hose is currently sold separately from the can of fogging oil, so be sure to pick one up at the dealer.

Just a note..... you are fogging the motor not really the carbs........ the carbs are an "entrance" for the fogging oil.
