The iboats forum moderators are excited to announce that at this time it appears the iboats forums posting pictures function is working once again. Though we cannot promise for how long, we're hoping for indefinitely.
the crank damper is mounted to the front of the engine crank shaft. it is usually a weighted ring mounted with an elastomeric member to the balanced inner ring/flange. it dampens the harmonics generated in the motor from the firing pulses.
Yeah Bruce that's it. I guess the plate is like a counter weight. The splined section is connected through those springs and they provide the damping action. Is it for going in and out of gear or a little of everything?
