Hi, sorry if I could not find the information by searching, I am new at this and I am attempting to rebuild a 1993 Larson SEI 180. I have replaced the transom, stringers and currently installing the floor. I have used marine grade douglas fir for everything , all coated with epoxy resin. The stringers originally were only tabbed one side with woven roving and the other side was just chop strand from gun it appears. The new stringers are tabbed both side with 2 layers 17oz each and covered over the top with 6oz cloth. I have also tabbed in the transom with 3 layers of 17oz biax, new motor mounts with 5 layers 17oz. . The floor where it meets the stringer and motor mount is tabbed with one layer 12oz biax and also screwed in with SS screws. The entire floor will be covered with 6oz cloth. The floor where it meets the hull is tabbed with 2x 12oz. I have used 2lbs density foam and have used a 2 gallon kit to complete what is in the pictures. I hope everything is ok up till now, I have spend a bit of time reading in forum but could not find how to complete my next step. Where the floor meets the hull on the back end there was a layer of spray foam covered with chop gun I believe. The bottom 4 inches was removed to remove old floor and tab new one in, I thought of maybe galssing from the top of chop gun to floor with the section behind the fabric hollow and then once it hardens drill holes and inject 2lbs foam. Or is there a material I could use to plaster foam and then glass it over??
Thanks for your help. Yes I know I got myself in a bit of a project here...
I have already rebuilt the engine 4.3LX .030 oversize and ready to go on the widow maker and I am anxious to put this sucker in.
