I recentlly started restoring a 1965 Lone Star Mustang that has been sitting for
over ten years uncovered.
After shovelling all the dirt and trees from the interior I noticed cracks in
the fiberglass floor.
I pulled up some of the glass to have a look and do not like what I see.
The foam underneath is satturated.I am looking for suggestion on what to do?

Re: Floor repair

There is only 1 thing that you can do... rip out the deck and wet foam and replace. chances are (especially if there was dirt and trees!) the stringers and transom are gone too.

Stringers are like floor joists. they support the deck and add to the strength of the hull. usually (more often than not) they rot from the inside out. they are sometimes covered in fiberglass, and alot of manufacturers didnt do a good job, so water gets under the glass and rots them. they can look fine from the outside sometimes. the best thing is to drill a hole in them and see what the shavings look like.
