Guess I can mention this now....since the bush fires down south, we have been keeping quiet on this topic.
Our State of Queensland is quite large by anyones reckoning...I think it is actually bigger than Britain...anyway, we have had a lot of rain over the past months, and last week it was announced that 62% of the entire State was under water.
See frequent videos shots on TV news, taken from thousands of feet up, and for 360 degrees to the edge of the horrizon, all you can see is brown flood water....and as the plane fly's on, the scene never changes.
It is a pretty amazing sight.
Farmers think it great, coastal and isolated towns are enduring a nightmare.
They think it might make its was to Lake Eyre this time, so that will be spectacular if it fills.
Cheers
Phillip

Re: Floods

Would'nt it be terrific if all of that excess water could be piped down to the drought strickened areas ?

Re: Floods

Up here we have been watching your fires/floods on the news for some time now. Its ironic that one spots getting flooded and another spot so dry it bursts into flames. According to our news you guys got some of our finest fire fighters to help out. That's one thing British Columbia in Canada knows how to do is fight fire. We get floods too but were still working on getting that right.
