I've got the real factory manual and am in the middle of a carb rebuild for my 85 evinrude 70hp (E70TLCO) with the trim/tilt. I've got the carbs disassembled except I can NOT get the float valve seat loose. It has a slot like a flat head screw and appears to have threads in the diagram, but I can't get it out. I've got a big screw driver but the thing wont budge on any of the three carbs! I even chipped a little bit off of one of the slots. Im guessing I can still stick a wire in there to clean it and soak it but the carb soaker Im using warns not to put any plastic/rubber in it. So now Im worried about the seal behind it if I soak it. Is there any trick I haven't seen on this website and the manual fails to mention? Should I soak them anyway with the float valve seat seal on it anyway? Any tips would be appreciated.
Also, one of the high orifices I cant remove from the bowl because it looks like half the slot on it chipped off (I cant get the screwdriver to seat), I dont think this would keep the orifice from working, correct?
