Critchfield boat deck replacement

I acquired an older critchfield boat that I am unsure what type or year it is. They deck has some soft spots and I want to replace the deck. Can you split the hull on these boats or do you have to cut the fiberglass out? The boat is 17' with a split / walk through windshield. It has a 70 HP yamaha outboard motor. It looks like the fantail boats but the back does no go all the way around the motor and it has a V to the hull (it is not a tri-hall) . Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I think others will be along to discuss soft decks, etc. A few more pics of the boat. Other perspectives, and then close in of the splash-well and soft deck spots may help you get more help. Cool boat! Happy boating
