I have a bayliner trophy with 2 fish holds at the back of the boat... 5 yrs ago I changed the pump to a jabsco macerater it worked great till it finally died last season. The only problem with the jabsco was it would suck one tank dry and then proceed to suck air while the other tank still had water in it... I usually solved this problem by putting my finger over the drain hole on the empty tank so it would evacuate the other.... I was wondering if anyone knows of a type of pump that would continue to draw from both holds even if one was empty? Drains and hoses leaving the tanks are 3/4 ... if I remember correctly

Ayuh,.... That's a Plumbin' Problem, not a pump problem,....

My guess is, the 2nd tank to go dry, has a restriction in the out-flow line,...

It just dawned on me that maybe they make a dual intake pump???? Instead of splitting to the two tanks with just a single intake pump

A well-designed system has fish boxes draining directly overboard by gravity. Maybe you want to rig some through-hulls. Seems like a lot of extra effort and cost to pump and macerate--unless you are chumming.

Meanwhile carry a sink stopper for the one that pumps out first.

Bondo sometimes its the left tank somtimes the right it is ****ty plumbing but is the jabsco capable of pumping if it is sucking air ou of the one its not really gravity fed

Sinkstopper is a good idea... these fish holds are in the floor and too low for simple thru hulls

Nope,... No pump will pump a fluid if it's suckin' air,...

If there is only one pump for draining two Live Wells, the Live Wells are cross connected, that's OK!
If you shut the Drain Pump OFF once it starts to draw air, the water in the full Well will back drain into the empty Well until the water levels are equal. If they don't, or the process is very slow, there is a blockage in the plumbing.
The drain hoses should be Level or Downhill to the pump, and then Uphill to the Hull Through.
