I’ve ordered a 2022 SVX 211. The dealer received it in and I was looking to install a good quality fish finder. They told me the biggest I could mount flush on the console is a 5” screen. The 5” screens are very limited for units and options. I’d like to do a clean mount as the boat will be new, but a 5” unit is tough. Does anyone have any suggestions on installing a fish finder that would be clean and functional? Anyone have the same or similar situation with an SVX? Thanks.

What functionality are you looking for that your not finding on the smaller displays?

"Good quality" fishfinder is subjective...my transducer was $600 alone . How much do you want to spend?

I’ll spend up to 1600 for a unit. Features I like are down/side/live. The dealer has Hummingbird Helix 5’s.

Not a fan of Humminbird for their deceptive performance claims but a lot of people seem to be happy with them.

I'm running Garmin EchoMap UDH 94SV with a GT51M-TM transducer for FF and a Garmin GPSMAP 943 for chart plotting. I can add Panoptix Live Scope to either one but don't see the need in my situation.

Having said that, a 5" display is a bit small to support Down or Side or Live scan functionality IMHO. The targets are too small on 9" display. Can't imagine what they look like on a 5" display

I have never once used Down scan in my 4 years of owning the unit.
Spread Spectrum (CHIRP) gives me a MRI view of what's under the boat as opposed to the Polaroid "snap shot" you get with Down View/ Scan....
