I had an opportunity to drink "grog" last night and gave it a try. Ummm, different would be my best description. I am told there are many variations, mine was:

Beer brought to a boil, cinnamon, a bit of sugar, lime and lemon juice and a double shot of rum all added to a large mug, beer poured over everything and stir.

It was ok/good but I suspect a cool fall day would make it better. It's not something I would want more than one of.

Had some Grog in Corpus Christi about 13 years ago. Sounds like it was something completely different. As far as I remember.......

The real grog, as rationed by His Majesty's Navy, was about half water and half good Jamaican rum.
