thanks for ht pic advice. In the pics above the bad welds have been cleaned up using Muggy Super Weld. I have the rivets on the way and should have them in this week.

What caused all the damage to the hull to need all the welds?

It looks like the transom is installed, it could use some sealer and I would paint it as well. Was there a cap for the transom? The exposed ply edge will suck up water.

The guy who had it before me out a 40 hp engine on it and then said he son would run it at full speed through the rougher water. TO top things of even better the hauled it on the rocks and toted it around in the back of a truck.. that's why I got it for 200. The transom has 3 coats to West System 105 resin and there will be a cap on it shortly. I only installed the transom so I could get the engine controls placed and measured. I have the aluminum for the cap but have not got to actually make the thing. Transom come off again the weekend when I hope to get the metal for the transom installed - I turned the 15 into a 20 - and make some changes before it is in for good.

I couldn't tell from the pics if there was a sealer on the transom ply. Although if that's epoxy that was used to seal it, there's no UV inhibitors in it from what I've seen the epoxy has to be covered with something to protect it.

Thanks for that I had no clue of that issue. I will be painting and carpeting the interior so I will do the wood as well. I did not even know that you can mix that in..Thanks again for the advise.

I will get some additional pics up when I can but I bought a Hobart 180, set it up for aluminum, still learning, but I have my floor center and cross braces welded and ready to install. I am doing as much as I can with Aluminum to keep the weight down and besides, it has been fun to learn this.
